Owned by husband-wife team Oscar Chacón and Francisca Cubillo, Beneficio Las Lajas ranks as one of the most progressive, high-quality coffee mills in all of Costa Rica. Oscar and Francisca are third generation coffee producers, making a name for themselves by pioneering natural- and honey-processed coffees.
Las Lajas is a certified-organic micromill located in Sabanilla de Alajuela in the Central Valley region of Costa Rica. Organic composts are produced on site using vermiculture (worm composting), and the production process is entirely free of chemicals and agro-toxins.

Typica is one of the root varieties of Coffea arabica, a mutation of one or more selection from Ethiopia planted in Yemen and then transplanted to Java by the Dutch in the 17th century.
Typica variety is also known as Criollo, Indio, Arabica, Pluma Hidalgo, and Blue Mountain.
